Why should we care if it is a thing of the past?people like to drag this up, so somehow, I have to do what they want now.
We all have to deal with our share of difficulties. Donot want more.

the relevance of (certain incidents in) the past is highly subjective ....in a very subjective MORmON kind of way

a MORmON might get confused about which part of the past is important and which is not

Roy Moore is being persecuted by the Republican Establishment and the News media. As he rightfully should be. Same for Joe Smith and those who followed him.

Loved the You Tube Vid, one of my favorite GBH quotes:
Aberrations Gordon B. Hinckley

"We live in as society that feeds on criticism. Faultfinding is the substance of columnists and commentators, and there is too much of this among our own people. It is so easy to find fault, and to resist doing so requires much of discipline... Of course, there are aberrations in our history. There are blemishes to be found, if searched for, in the lives of all all men, including our leaders past and present, But these are only incidental to the magnitude of their service and to the greatness of their contributions. Keep before you the big picture, for this cause is as large as all mankind and as broad as all eternity. This is the church and the kingdom of God."

(Ensign/May 1982 Gordon B. Hinckley Councilor in the First Presidency Sunday Morning Session April 4, 1982)

persecution must be being taught---not just what may have happened in Missouri and Illinois 150 years ago, but now. Why do I think so?

Because DH made a comment yesterday about how the father of a child on his bus-route must be mormon, because he saw him helping he sister missionaries lift their bicycles onto a roof rack.

Then he said he guessed it could have been any helpful person, but that since evangelical Christians hate the mormons, no evangelical Christian would have been helping the obviously sister missionaries.

Whewee--really? Wow, and stuff like that. I am aghast....
