Missionary Facebook friend request me

I could tell a while ago that the missionaries have been looking at my profile because they are now coming up as people you may know but one just sent me a friend request. How weird is that? I've never met them, they've never come knocking on my doors. I do still have family members at church so I am known there. I always wonder how the strang tactics win anyone over. Anyone else have experiences with missionaries and social media.
