I was on 300 west, stopped at the corner of north Temple about 1230 PM. There was a couple of motorcycle cops stopping northbound traffic and then came a big Cadillac hearse, followed by 3-4 funeral cars. Then there was several other cars following the funeral cars, going north on 300 west.

I came to the conclusion that they were for the funeral of Elder Hales, I'm sure headed to the Salt Lake Cemetery, coming from the conference center.

It's been many years since I was in the vicinity of that cemetery so I'm not sure what the best route is to get there. It seems like they were kind of going out of their way, but maybe not. I didn't read if he was to be buried there.

Safe travels, brother Hales wherever you're headed.

You got to witness the funeral procession of an apostle!

Looks like he was interred in Bountiful, so going north on 300 West would be a good route.

Most likely, nowhere.
But if it's anywhere, it's likely to be hot and nasty...

Where I live, police only get involved with processions for fallen soldiers whose remains have come through Dover Air Force base. You know, people who have actually done something that benefits their fellow citizens.

funeral and processional. There was not one spiritual thing stated in Hinckley's funeral. I watched it out of curiosity because I was working at the time.

I didn't watch local news because I didn't want to hear about his funeral.

Oh, Boyd is in Brigham City. Hard to miss. I happened to be changing my parents' graveside flowers when they were burying him. (Far from my parents.)

He was buried in Bountiful. Tonight at the cemetery there was still a tent up and a floral memorial Y. The special escort followed his body all the way to the cemetery. We saw it go past and thought for a minute it was a police officer funeral, before we remembered

I'm surprised there weren't more cars in the funeral procession. For someone that high up you'd think there'd be a line a mile long.

Maybe that's how he or his family wanted it: nice and simple.

I think because they were going to the Bountiful Cemetery, about 8 miles from downtown and probably using I15, they only keep the hearse and other actual funeral cars together.

The light turned so I had to leave the scene and don't know how many cars could have been in the party.

Now just wait a minute ...
I thought apostles got to ride to heaven on white horses or something.

Nah, that was that other prophet. The piss-be-upon-him one.

When God takes out the garbage, he does it in style.

Funny, I was thinking "landfill" as well.

I thought apostles were just taken straight to heaven, not tasting death.

That's just the real ones, not the fake ones.
