The HP geezer TBM I have written about who took it upon himself to try and pester and cajole me back to the church (and be sure to bring my Catholic wife along too) after my dad died 17 years is finally going to his reward at age 91.
His long suffering wife will finally have some peace. His children, especially those who strayed, even infinitesimally from the path (as he and he alone defined it) will also have some peace.
Even TBM's in his own ward had little use for him. They won't miss him and neither will I.

What a sad legacy to leave behind.

Some funerals are a celebration of the dearly departed's life. Others are a celebration of their death.

Was he a high priest at the time of his passing?

He sounds like he was a zealot.

How sad if that's how people remember him by, including his own family.

He was high priest, a zealot, a bully (to his own children I am told and to other's in his family who didn't "measure up" spiritually) and an asshole.

I'd tell my father to dress for a warm climate when he goes.
