I think it was an attempt to mitigate the public troubles that are going to come from John D.'s church discipline. It's kind of like how they buried the essays on their official site. They fancy that they will be ablt to say, "See? There it is right there. We are up-front about Joseph Smith's marriages to other women." "See? There it is right there. We support LGBT issues."

I don't think that anyone but the most believing of TBM's are being sucked in by this, however.

Who can really know what goes on in their atrophied brains? We RfMers are always trying to first anticipate their moves, then, once made, interpret the moves. Afterward we invariably interpret their move as clumsy at best, irreversably stupid at worst. Then we all scratch our collective head trying to figure out just why 15 angry attorneys, CEOs, and successful corporate men acted with such irresponsible behaviour, shooting themselves in the foot again--not by accident but by taking careful aim.
