Yes, I agree. With the encouragement of TSCC, Bishops often assume that your parental rights and responsibilities will take second place to the "Father of the Ward".

My younger daughter attended a neighboring ward in while in high school to be with girls that were actually nice. I told that bishop he was not to conduct any worthiness interviews, nor interviews of any kind behind closed doors. He quickly agreed, since he knew I can be pretty non negotiable in certain things.

Said daughter is no totally inactive and engaged to an atheist.
