Off the top of my head I would say you probably can't go wrong with National Geographic's offering, but that's about it.
What a good DNA test will reveal is where your mitochondrial DNA originated and/or is most common; the same for your y-Chromosome haplogroup if you're a male, and the autosomal sequences will show where they originally arose, what admixture occurred, etc. and you can compare and contrast that with what's known about your genealogy (which many Mormons have traced back a number of generations).
If you're Native American, it won't tell you your tribabl affiliation, however, but a test will reveal whether it's likely you have N/A's, African-Americans, South Pacific Islanders, or Asians in your ancestry.

23 and Me is excellent! They also used to provide extensive probability data on health traits and disease risks, based on your genome, until the FDA shut down that part.
I'm hoping the rumored "thousand dollar sequence" will be realized in my lifetime. I mean the full monty: complete diploid sequence, 30x average coverage and 99+% reliability. Best would be to also throw in mtDNA as a bonus, kinda like ginsu knives. Operators are standing by.
