Caution: don't drive with the emergency brake on!

Don, the image of the station wagon actually looks like it was taken in the parking lot of an LDS Stake Center?

It does look like that. I found the photo online.

Thanks for the post.

Reminds me of quite a few families who fit that description from the ward/s.

My sister-in-law's sister had a nervous meltdown when her priesthood holding husband pulled that on her. They had something like 5-8 kids (including two sets of twins.) He'd work all day, come home expecting dinner to be waiting and the housework caught up, and children well behaved.

She had to be hospitalized and threatened him with divorce. He finally got the message being a husband/father was more than bringing home a paycheck.

And I only had twins. I about lost my mind. My ex used to tell me he had made all my dreams come true. I realized I had been dreaming the wrong dreams.

Don and I grew up in a house filled with guilt and shame.
There was some violence, too. But the emotional neglect is what made me the man I am today.

This story hits a little too close to home...

Don, you got surveillance on my family members or what?

Many Mormon women live like this. I've known more than one. This story is based on real events.

That is a bittersweet sentiment.

Don, I did not know you had a brother who posted on this board as well.

I read some of the other short stories. Some of them were really good. I like the one in Sacramento.
