Krist, I must have the COB on the mind today - sorry if it's too repetitious.

I was reading some replies on another post and got to thinking "what departments are there in the COB?". Do we have a good list of what departments there are? Missionary, temple, I guess publications and then my favorite, the resignation department (probably a desk in the membership dept).

Anybody know?

Members and Statistical Records includes the Confidential Membership Records Dept.

And there is the Church Educational System (CES) that covers religious Seminary classes for high school and Institute for college, is in there someplace also. They hire teachers, instructors, secretary types. They have commissioned books. One set was used at BYU: "Readings in L.D.S. Church History from Original Manuscripts" 3 Vol's by William E. Berrett & Alma P Burton

They have a magazine subscription department and definitely accounting offices: money, blessings, quotes, membership, etc...

I had heard (seriously) that the IRS has an office in there.

I actually went in person with a friend to a Utah State tax commission court. They claimed he made so much income. He disputed it.

What did they do? The Tax Commission entered into evidence his Tithing Record, obtained by them direct from the church.

Blew us away.

I'm pretty sure the MINISTRY OF LOVE is in there somewhere.

They deal with law and order (brainwashing), love courts (disciplinary matters) and supervise the Strengthening the Members Committee (spying on members) as well as what is left of the Danites.
