What does "religious freedom" mean in this context...
"Religous Freedom Conference at BYU"
Isn't that an oxymoron?
http://religiousfreedom.byu.edu/sites/iclrs.ce.byu.edu/files/iclrs_2016_online_schedule.pdfTopics:
Political Trends and Religious Freedom:
Where Are We and Where Are We Going On Religious Freedom Issues Nationally?
Topics include:
• The Role of Religion and Religious Tolerance in the Upcoming Election (Ever heard of a big beautiful wall between church and state?)
• “Christian Bigots” and “Muslim Terrorists”: Religious Liberty in a Polarized Age (Why do we tolerate either?)
• State of the States: Religious Freedom in State Legislatures (Again, ever heard of a big beautiful wall between church and state?)
• Strategies for Reducing Perceived Conflict between Religious Freedom and LGBT Rights (It's not 'perceived', it's real, especially when you target LGBT's by sponsoring hate legislation)
Here's a snippit of what 'Religious Freedom' Means in Happy Valley.....
http://www.sltrib.com/news/4096619-155/byu-professor-dont-get-nuclear-overJewish girl sues her happy valley school to prevent them from singing MORmON and Xtian songs at graduation. She wins, but the students all revolt and sing it anyways, just to 'excercise their freedom of religion!" and force the minorities to endure a painful reminder that they're not one of them.
The only 'Big Beautiful Wall' we should be building is between church and state and it should have a mirror on it so we can take a good hard look at ourselves.
