Someone quoted this movie line in another thread.

Shouldn't this be the new motto of LDS Inc.?

Especially with all the apostasy, the internet, the CES letter, etc.

Just because Joseph Smith made it all up doesn't mean it isn't true. Right?

Well, if a seer stone works like a cell phone...

Those that have an emotional need to belong to the morg will find a way to believe.

Only God Knows That It Can't Be What It Is

Because It Is What It Isn't

Faith really can move mountains. Look at the way those idiots have moved the Hill Cumorah around the continent.

There have been occasions when something I made up was true. It's a sobering experience...

Years ago, when I pointed out the BofA papyrus had been found and it doesn't translate to the BofA, and is nothing more that common funeral rights, my TBM sister replied....

"I don't care what it translates to, I know its true".

She later left the church with her entire family, but that reply has always stood out to me as the gold standard of mormon reasoning. Sad but true.

What means it's not true is evidence that shows it isn't.
People who make things up occasionally make up something that later on turns out to be "true." But that's coincidence. Most often, what they make up turns out to be, as shown by evidence, just stuff they made up :)
