Holiday Card from the bishopric

I live in northern Davis County Utah. I get a Christmas card each year from the ward bishopric. I have to comment on how watered down the LDS testimonial has become. From the card:

"We want you to know that we each have faith that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's true church on Earth. We truly believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior".......on and on and on.

When I was kid they "knew" all these things. Now they have faith and they believe.

At least it's more realistic.

If that sort of "I believe" testimony had been acceptable when I was a member of the church, I wouldn't have been forced to realize I didn't KNOW.

Do members have to "know" to keep up their TR?

What's the wording in the interview process?

If these bishopric guys only think they might have faith, I wonder if they should turn in there recommends.
