"Do you think God makes mistakes?" We missionaries would ask the investigator when questioned about gays. "Of course not. This is why we believe in the eternal nature of gender and believe that homosexual acts are an abomination to God."

So God does not make mistakes. It is the gay person's fault to have feelings that are contrary to what God has created that person to be.

Did any of the investigators ever respond with "How do you know that gays are a mistake, maybe being in a male/female relationship is a mistake. Jesus was always with other guys and as far as we know he never married."

We always butchered the fruit of the spirit quote from Galatians saying the spirit is the feeling of love, joy, peace... (a miss representation of what paul was talking about, but the church had it in the discussions wrong)

There was the ever-popular hand in the glove to demonstrate what our spirits and our bodies were like when they were separated.

Pre-blacks getting Priesthood: When a black person asked us missionaries why we wouldn't allow them to have the Priesthood or go into our temples:

"If you believe Mormon's have a true prophet of God then you will believe this revelation is from God. If you don't, then it shouldn't matter to you". Yes, we were arrogant.

Today from the Mormon Church, "Oops, we screwed up, God didn't really say that".

I've often said that the essay on blacks and the priesthood is the ultimate admission that the 15 are not "prophets, seers, and revelators."

Ummm ...... it's not really an analogy, but saying that Joe Smith did not really want to marry and have sex with all of his many added plural wives, but he had to because god commanded it, while attempting to explain MORmON polygamy to investigators, that definitely qualifies as STUPID ....... and "I pledge I’ll never get my foot in that kind of trap again."

Priesthood authority analogy.

Would you accept a traffic ticket coming from an ice cream truck driver? No.
What about a police officer?

Mormons are the police officer and the rest of churches are just driving ice cream trucks.

Will you be baptized by proper authority?

Here have a ticket.
