Low hanging fruit.

Ballard,

"You beautiful girls: Don’t wander around looking like men. Put on a little lipstick now and then and look a little charming — it’s that simple. I don’t know why we make this whole process so hard.”

how about .. the 'Hosanna Shout' when they dedicate a new temple?

Were any dedicated in '15?

Who is Hosanna anyway? That Hosanna shout is VERY CULTish.

When I was a kid, that was the word I thought I was hearing whenever I heard Toto's Rosanna. Brainwashing really runs deep in the cult.

I'll have to go with uchtdorf from the October conference:

"Brethren, let me be clear: there is nothing noble or impressive about being cynical. Skepticism is easy—anyone can do it. It is the faithful life that requires moral strength, dedication, and courage. Those who hold fast to faith are far more impressive than those who give in to doubt when mysterious questions or concerns arise."

Of course it is way easier to question your entire worldview in the search for truth and sacrifice meaningful family and friend relationships rather than put on blinders and mindlessly obey.

That one pisses me off. He's a goddamned idiot. Skepticism is the more humble, parsimonious way. Listen to him: "I'm right. I'm right about everything. I'm a prophet! You're wrong, wrong, wrong . . ."

To them, "being humble" means, "do everything I tell you. Believe everything I command you to believe."

He said, "Brethern, let me be clear . . ." Who does this motherfucker think he is? Fuck'im.

"Ponderize"...

...not to mention the "Ponderize" websites that attempted a cash-grab, before TSCC put the screws on it.

Did a GA ACTUALLY use the word "ponderize"? I thought it was just an ongoing joke.

I had to look this up.

Ponderize:
To memorize a concept while deliberately choosing not to contemplate its meaning.

Kate was determined to ponderize her cult's leaders manifesto, fearing further study would destroy her faith.

Another quote from Uchtdorf that made me so angry I wanted to cry. It's so unbelievably stupid. He wouldn't have his stupid flying career if it weren't for scientists studying flight.

"Sometimes, the truth may just seem too straightforward, too plain, and too simple for us to fully appreciate its great value. So we set aside what we have experienced and know to be true in pursuit of more mysterious or complicated information. Hopefully we will learn that when we chase after shadows, we are pursuing matters that have little substance and value."

Three "White and Delightsome" Apostles pass away ... (that's not the bad part, obviously) and they couldn't even use this golden opportunity to choose a single non-white replacement. I guess that's not really a "statement" (more of an act), but here is the press release statement (don't bother reading it--there's nothing there):

How about Christofferson's statement rationalizing SSM-children ban? That wasn't just a lame-ass statement, but one given to justify a hateful, ill-conceived, discriminatory policy change:

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865640934/Elder-Christofferson-explains-updated-LDS-Church-policies-on-same-sex-marriage-and-children.html?pg=all

(There's a video of the entire, shamelessly scripted "interview," if you can stand watching all 10+ minutes. Warning: keep a bucket handy.)

What's even more nauseating is the replies of the sheeple that support the policy change. "I'm so grateful for a living prophet..." Blah, blah, blah. When has your "living prophet" ever prophesied about anything of importance like 9/11, the Boston bombings, the Paris attacks? I can go on and on...what "living prophet"?

I just read about an apostolic blessing the great and powerful Dodo gave to a congregation I think it was in Virginia. Anyway, pure snake oil.

Here is another snake oil gem from Droopy Dog's face book page.

"The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most certain, the most secure, the most reliable, and the most rewarding truth on earth and in heaven, in time and in eternity. Nothing—not anything, not anyone, not any influence—will keep this Church from fulfilling its mission and realizing its destiny declared from before the foundation of the world."

This suddenly made me think that God must be a terrible procrastinator to have only gotten around to setting up his one true church in the very last days of the Earth. Think of all the generations of men that could have benefitted from his mighty wisdom if he'd just have gotten going a few thousand years sooner.

And seriously, "from before the foundation of the world" the high and mighty LDS church had its destiny declared? What is it like a minuscule percentage, even less than 1% of the world's population are or have been somewhat LDS?

Jeff is overreaching here on a grand scale. I guess he has to get his jowls flapping somehow.

the GAs & church have always said that their message 'is for the entire world'

however

the words they speak & write are clearly Preaching to the Choir.

International significance? None.

Main Focus? tithing, porn, & other matters that are clearly marginal to 99% of the population.

giving unique information and/or advice on resolving world problems or challenges? Nada

When doubters/detractors or even believers who wish clarifications point out (GASP) failures, inconsistencies, or anomalies, they're plummeted with scorn, disrespect, & derision.

they propound preachy advice regarding preserving families... but they're SILENT when a TBM divorces a NOM/doubter, in spite of what the Bible teaches. In my case, my now former wife Unleashed Hate & Lies against me; outcome: She gets a TR + the Halo Effect!

for Context/Comparison, refer to the past definition of a prophet's profile:

As a missionary I loved this talk by HUBEE Brown.
What wasn't clear to me then, but is now, was that there was a
missing element in this presentation to "M'Lord"...someone as good at oration as HUBEE, to present "M'Lord" with the "OTHER SIDE" of the story.

I think Dallin Oaks takes the prize.

"I know that the history of the church is not to seek apologies or to give them," Oaks said in an interview. "We sometimes look back on issues and say, 'Maybe that was counterproductive for what we wish to achieve,' but we look forward and not backward."

The church doesn't "seek apologies," he said, "and we don't give them."

Didn't Perry call out gay families as "counterfeit" sometime before his death this year?
