How would Mormons justify artificial intelligence

Every good Mormon knows that technological advances are foreordained by God and are somehow related to His "Work and Glory" so what about artificial intelligence?

Robot missionaries who if killed wouldn't be so bad for "The Church"????

The day will come when Mormons oppose civil rights for AI entities. Rational people will welcome artificial intelligence and work with it without judgment. Mormons will have problems accepting the concept of inorganic consciousness. Worst of all, AI will not give money to the church--illogical when the money could be directed to the needy. Mormons will do what they've always done best. They will hate.

I agree. They will argue the soul-less nature of AI and argue for keeping AI as slave systems. If society ever turned from that mindset "The Mormons" would eventually follow suit.

The question is... will AI have inorganic consciousness or just be a very powerful autonomous thinking machine? What is consciousness? We may very well find out when AI is ultimately achieved. It will be very interesting to see...

Mormonism doesn't have dogma to cover new stuff that nobody envisioned before. They'll just make up new stuff to cover it, as usual. AI will probably first be proclaimed as evil, then 20 years after everybody else groks it, they'll proclaim it as gospel.

They'll just say some bs like they always do, that God revealed to scientists on how to create AI, so really God created AI. They say that bs for anything scientific.

artificial stupidity

Mormons are into artificial stupidity. Artificial stupidity
occurs when naturally intelligent people forces themselves to be
unable to grasp an obvious concept because it conflicts with how
they would like things to be.

Great explanation. People want Joseph Smith to be the founder of a great benefit to humanity. So they are intentionally stupid when it comes to understanding how a conman can also be the founder of the organization which will save all humanity.

I guess the intentionally stupid part is also that one man can be responsible for the saving of all humanity. That is unless he wasn't "just a man."
