Latest Box Office Mojo shows more sales on FHE Monday than popular movie-night Friday, and only $6263 in ticket sales ($49 per venue) on Sunday.

Even the Mormons have met the Mormons by now.

So the Red Cross has made millions!

I REALLY hope American Red Cross discloses exactly what they receive from the film proceeds. There's no way that most theaters would pay a typical lease and take a typical low cut for opening weeks for Meet the Mormons...it would be a guaranteed money loser if they did. I would bet that they didn't charge theaters a lease fee, and that they only took 25% or so of ticket sales. If that's the case, and who knows if it is, the film definitely LOST money...production and distribution costs would be more that the church's $1.X million take.

But that's exactly what they counted on when they made it! Can you say: tax write-off?

The Container Store just opened a new store in SLC and announced it was donating 10% of its gross sales from the first weekend to charity. I suspect that will be more than the Red Cross receives from this venture.

Big drop from 333 theaters to 128...I thought the distributor was super-excited about it's upward trajectory!...I thought it was supposed to fill the earth! It only got a two week run in the theater closest to me...in one of the most mormony places on the planet. It made more in it's first day than it has in the last 12 days...and the opening weekend was supported by stakes buying tickets, giving away tickets, etc... It will be in very few theaters this Friday. FAIL!

The film got a two week run in Maryland. You can fool 'em once, but not twice.

To sell tickets I am sure non-Mormons would pay to see a film on Joseph Smith, and his Presidential Campaign, his Generals uniform, and how the angel with the flaming sword forced him to engage in polyandry, and polygamy.!

Only 128 theaters showing. I wonder if all of them are in Utah or Idaho.

It's still playing in my town next week but it's gone from Twin Falls.

It only lasted 2 weeks in a couple of theaters in my city, but there is still a theater about 30 miles away that is still showing it.

What is this film about? Does it have a plot?

It's an infomercial that you pay to see.

It is just a longer version of the "I am a mormon" you tube video series

I have not seen it being shown in any theaters in my area but if I did I would not go to see it even at the dollar cinema Id much rather see something entertaining like guardians of the galaxy!

Attending this movie wouldn't be much different than attending a mormon church service and paying tithing for the privilege. Why would anyone sane want to do that? Next time the Red Cross asks for money on TV, I'll have to reconsider if their real mission is worthy now that they're accepting money as a part of a tactic that promotes a cult religious organization. With all of that money from the cult, they don't need my donations any more. Shame on the Red Cross for pandering for the Mormon church. The Red Cross should refuse these donations.

TSCC just took 5 plus million dollars from its most devote members.

Truly unbelievable.

I hope they demand a full accounting from LDS, Inc.
How many Mormons think they just made a donation to the Red Cross when the reality is that the donation would only be made on profits, not gross sales, nor gross to LDS, Inc. (gross to LDS, Inc will probably be less than half the $5Million). Unlike many movies the distributor has not provided a production cost figure, probably because they didn't get one from LDS, Inc.

Another documentary out this year, Island of Lemurs, Madagascar has grossed close to 8 million, which likely included very few mormons.

Just clicked on it and I can still order tickets through Wednesday the 5th. If this movie is playing well anywhere, it will be here.
