This is a revised post from a few weeks ago. It contains a lot of new issues, and, most assuredly puts the believer in Christianity is a hole, and by reference, a believer in Mormonism.

There are, in my opinion good reasons to believe that Jesus never even existed.

Sometimes I think Joseph Smith and Mary are in the same club.

This club is called "Covering your butt with a wild story and accidentally starting a religion."

So, if Jesus died for our sins, that is not the same as being punished for our sins, is it? Because if he was actually being punished for our sins, wouldn't that mean he would have to spend eternity in Hell? I mean, that's what the Bible says is our punishment for sinning. Dying for our sins seems not so very valiant since we all die anyway. Of course, religion doesn't make sense and I loved reading your link, by the way. Too bad I couldn't figure much of this stuff out for myself, but such is life.

God fell apart first for me taking Mormonism with it. It occurred to me one day, among other things that were piled high on my shelf that the KISS theory was that Mary got pregnant and freaked and made up a story. It suddenly seemed so simple. Why would a God that lets people suffer in the various third world shitholes they had the misfortune to be born in, why would this entity care if I passed my exam? There's no compelling argument whatsoever for a benevolent supreme being.

Bill Gates has led a virtuous life? I think i would have used a better example.

Joseph: How did you get pregnant without letting me touch you?

Mary (points upward)

Joseph: Mr. Cohen upstairs?

(me) It's Post-Christianity time; we should jetison 'the old ways', substitute Kindness, Honesty, Charity-Empathy.

of course this c/would be considered heresy buy many if not most Christians.
