Im not sure if a person in real life did, but in season 5 episode 12 of Fringe, Captain Windmark said it around 30 minutes into the show.

Don't know who said it.
But I disagree.
There is no greater adventure than that which is unknown :)

There's a reason why scriptures of various religions have always exhorted us to love our neighbors.

The stranger, the traveler, was always treated with hospitality, as he was no threat. Your neighbor, on the other hand, frequently competed with you for food, water, land, and other resources. So, it was actually a radical idea to love your neighbor.

I disagree too. "Better the devil we know than the one we don't" is a major reason people stay in bad religions, bad jobs, bad marriages. They are afraid of the unknown.

The unknown is often far less formidible than we feared.

A greater threat is the idiot who "knows something."
- And knows it For A Certainty.

"There is no greater danger than never being afraid."

"There is no greater danger than never looking for something new to do."

"There is no greater danger than always seeking to please yourself first."

"there is no greater danger than always being certain you're in the right."

"There is no greater danger than wrapping yourself in bacon and then trying to kiss a mama grizzly bear just as she's coming out of her hibernation cave with her twin cubs."
