How many son’s, daughters, husbands, wives, moms, dads, grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, aunts, lifelong friends who overcame the personal fears taught and even demanded by the LDS church, sought to find truth no matter what may come, did so and lost everything to stand naked and alone next to the uncomfortable truth that they found? Is laziness, cowardice, lack of integrity the traits of such people?

Of course not! They are the very traits that are praised of those who in society can rise above and sacrifice what is necessary for themselves and the coming generations to see evil and insidiousness out the door and to show them that although not easy it can be done.

With the mantra that it is better that a missionary is better off to come home in a box than come home dishonored because that missionary learned the truths that the LDS essays now admit while in the mission field and that their religious beliefs were not the truth nor truthful are they now honored?

Will there be an apology to the husband or wife who divorced the spouse of their youth after in many cases a lifetime of marriage tearing family and extended family apart, will they now recognize that the spouse that lost their beliefs were more than justified?

Will parents who screamed at, threatened, bribed and in some cases beat their children to get to church so that the “appearance of evil” could be avoided now run to their spouses, children, friends and loved ones to apologize?

In this time in the history of the LDS church what could be a more perfect setup to show Christ like love by contacting loved ones that you had wronged by belief and ignorance now revealed to be proven wrong by the clear admittance that supposed anti-mormon lies were no such thing by the LDS Essays.

Will that Stake President, Bishop, Area Authority, Relief Society President, current leaders or ex leaders who participated in the destruction of marriages and the breaking up of families that the LDS Essays now show they were not only un-inspired but flat out wrong in their haste to judge and judge in a manner that was systematically taught by the same entity that now validates what was thought to be anti-mormon lies, seek out that long list of those wronged and apologize?

Will courage, integrity, honesty and humility, the same traits that led those who were honest with themselves and the information now validated by the LDS church in the Essays, be used to make amends, rekindle lost and damaged relationships, heal the gapping wounds caused by the lack of these same traits when originally judging loved ones?

Who will be lazy now? Who will lack humility now? Who will lack courage now? Who will disdain deliberate ignorance now? Who will tell the plain and simple truth now?

Who will be the first to seek out that abandoned child years ago who while overseas at school was cut off and left to fend for themselves for honestly admitting non-belief for the reasons now validated in the LDS Essays when asked?

Four decades in the LDS church taught me one thing. It is expected that the member be truthful in all things, no exceptions. Even though the institution called the LDS church has not been truthful the members are still held to this standard. The church will never apologize to the uncountable that have been harmed, but the members can.

So ask yourselves this, current member of the LDS church, what would Christ do? Protect the church, or seek out that shunned person and let them know that it was you who were lost?
Who will be the first to stand up in Testimony meeting and tell the members how you contacted a shunned one and made amends due to what you learned in the LDS Essays?

“What would you think of a man who had set out on a long journey and after travelling for a time realized that he was traveling the wrong direction, then after considering his situation continued along his original path? (Not the exact wording but close enough)

It doesn't matter. If the Q12 were caught injecting Ebola into Primary kids, you would still have no excuse for not remaining obedient to your temple covenants.

My own parents, church leaders and alleged friends all agree that no matter what kind of proof I showed them, my decision to leave the chuyrch was totally unjustified, and my desires sinful.

Brilliant! This one needs to be sent to the SLT for
Publication either as a Letter to the Editor OR as an
Opinion piece. Forthwith!
At the very least, everyone post it on your Facebook
With link to the original official new LDS Essay.
