Was just talking with a friend (we're both 37). His spiritual & emotional maturity are stunted because he's gorgeous & charming and has been spoiled his whole life, and along with all the women he's loved and parties he's thoroughly enjoyed he has enjoyed the euphoric escape of drugs & alcohol too.

He converted to the church when he was 25 and cleaned up his act for awhile to marry a gorgeous woman. Then a temple sealing. Then a divorce, then another gorgeous LDS woman married him. Then a divorce, etc...

Well he was just telling me about how he's so determined to go back to the temple. An hour later he pulls out an e cigarette. Hahaha

So I joked that maybe he could get away with smoking that in Sacrament meeting :-)

Oh I'm so glad this forum exists so we have a place to vent these dark Mormon anecdotes!

Ya think? Haha. Yes it's a very unhealthy attraction, but hey, it's all a part of this learning process we call life.

I'm smoking a nicotine free grape e cig right now some sometimes called e hookah, or hookah pen. just water vapor and leaves my throat hydrated and grape tasting. I've never smoked anything in my life. Now I'm going to get more flavors

Nice. Nicotine free, tastes grapey, leaves you hydrated. A vicey-looking yet harmless pastime.

Problem is the stigma of the appearance of smoking something out in public, but to each their own.

I would rather they see me with my ten-inch long "e-cig" (PV -- personal vaporizer) that I hold like a half-clarinet. Doesn't look anything like a cigarette. And going among smokers with it has its perks, too. If they ask questions, my answers might help save their lives. Being relegated to smoking areas has its advantages.

And I haven't had a single cold in a year and a half.

Smoking one now. No smell. Nicotine yes, but reducing the concentration. Some places let you smoke one inside, so no excusing yourself to go out and smoke. Supposedly harmless, but assuredly less so than real cigs.

So I'm a member and I was wondering can you take the sacrament if you're using vapor devices

I used smokeless tobacco during sacrament and the sky didn't fall in and lightening didn't strike...tho I did experience a pain in my A$$. Not sure the two were related...

I wouldn't know, I'm a Christian and no longer a Mormon. But I'm sure Mormons think that smoking an e cig is not avoiding the appearance of evil. Even nicotine free. I just do it for fun.

Nicotine is as addictive as heroin.

Grape-flavored e-cigarettes are a way for pushers (tobacco companies) to get little kiddies to try smoking and then try grapey flavored nicotine laden e-cigarettes.

But go ahead, enjoy your grape-tasting e-cig.

The "pushers" are the ones mounting an anti-E-cig campaign.
It's cutting into their profits way too much.

I'm smoking my e-cig as we speak.
I'm a former tobacco user. Been on e-cig for nearly a year and I feel GREAT!
I worry more about my sugar addiction than I do about the lessened amount of NIC I ingest

the WoW says nothing about nicotine, Just tobacco. If you can drink Pepsi, that e-cigs and gum should be okay. Just sayin'

Hey what happened to not judging people?????? My biggest concerns with church.. Too much judgment not enough fellowship. What about loving people regardless of their weaknesses and supporting them as they work through their trials. If we were all perfect we would be like the city of Enoch and not be here anymore because perfection can only reside in the heavens.

In the mid-1970s on a family vacation to SLC we took a tour of Temple Square. My father was so offended he left the tour and went outside and sat on a bench and smoked a cigarette right in the middle of Temple Square.
