I don’t want to belong to a church that actively deceives its members.

I don’t want to belong to a church that uses discipline to intimidate and control.

I don’t want to belong to a church that requires money from its members and then spends it frivolously on real estate and business ventures, with no public disclosure or input from the general membership.

I don’t want to belong to a church that spends more time and money on serving the dead than it does on serving the living.

I don’t want to belong to a church that doesn’t allow its members to think and act independently.

I don’t want to belong to a church that discriminates.

I don’t want to belong to a church that preaches honesty and integrity and charity, but sustains leaders who don’t practice it.

I don’t want to belong to a church that has the arrogance to claim to be the 'one and only' true church on earth and tries to back up that claim using false history.



I'm not ready to go public with friends and family, but it feels really good to say it somewhere. :)

Frankly I actually don't WANT to belong to a church at all

I agree! No more organized religion for me.

I don't want to belong to a church that forces small children to "testify" to things they don't actually know at the pulpit, or

...assigns reading from the same boring books to be discussed the same way for the same hour with a clock that always seems to be running slow and a Ben Stein wannabe for a teacher for the rest of my life.

...only allows women to pass the sacrament tray within the pews, but acts shocked if they as much as touch the thing elsewhere.

...forces adults to receive advice from often less wise adults than themselves, or gives obviously unwise people authority that they obviously aren't ready for just because they had a "feeling."

...everyone else knows more about than I do simply because I'm a member of it.

...would have me as a member.
