Today I was laying on the trampoline after exercising while looking at tree leaves shimmer in the sun, cloud shapes, feeling the perfect temperature, feeling my heart beating, and thinking about the implications of a possible infinite universe, or a possible infinite number of universes, or an infinite number of infinite universes, or no universes (it is all an illusion). I thought how 97% of stuff postulated by science to exist in our universe cannot be directly detected by scientific instruments. The best minds don’t know what 97% of stuff in our universe is. This invisible stuff is all around us and inside of us. People that think they have a handle on existence are insane. They are driven by cognitive dissidence to believe they know in order to avoid the existential feelings resulting from being a small fish in an apparently infinite ocean of existence. Admitting these feeling blows away any self-importance a person might be clinging to if they are allowed into consciousness. What ego can stand in that wind?

Agreed....and to not know what's out there, and wonder is much better for your soul than not wanting to know or believing there's nothing 'cause some fuckin' church says so...

Music is a good analogy to thought, and perhaps to existence. The Moody Blues are great, and they could profitably be balanced with other artists and other styles of music. You might try some blues that are less moody, less cerebral.

Thought has no destination. There is only the rhythm of trying to get there.

Well I might suggest some holey hymns more ephemeral!

So what the fuq?

Don't spoil the Mood.

Thanks.

George Nouri on "Coast to Coast AM" uses a lot of Moody Blues tunes as his bumper music between segments. You can never have too much Moody Blues.

George Nouri is great, a real professional. And I love me some Moody Blues as bumper music every half hour or so. Also that Peruvian music of his. Mix it up a little. Surrender your ego and then move on.

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colors from our sight.
Red is gray and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?

I have all their albums on CD in my truck....great for long drives....and I'm sure other motorists think they've seen a total whack job when they witness me singing along...

Love your post, ab!

"Bluebird, flying high
Tell me what you sing
If you could talk to me
What news would you bring
Of voices in the sky..."

Human, often running to the Moody Blues

When I first heard that, I had no idea what it meant. I thought that "tarmac" was some kind of Egyptian word. lol

Now I love this Board. I didn't know there were so many people with awesome taste in music. There is no such thing as an overdose of Moody Blues.

You might be in the mood for Terence McKenna talks. Very entertaining. Who we are is beyond our wildest imagination.

I don't think you can listen to too much Moody Blues. For me, a concert of theirs with a full orchestra is on my bucket list.

AB you've touched on something. Keep your ego at bay, ruminate in silence and soar. You'll know what I mean when it happens.

I've been a fan of TMB since Denny Lane fronted the group. The change in group dynamics and sound with the loss of Lane and Warwick and the addition of Hayward and Lodge did not change their status for me. They still are my favorite!

Oh no...the never can be too much of my beloved Moody Blues! I have seen them so many times and it is always a treat.

This song pretty much explains how I feel about things of the spirit. Could "religion" be this simple?

'One Step Into the Light'

One step into the light
One step away from night
It's the hardest step you're gonna take
The ship to take you there
Is waiting at the head
Of the stairs that lead up through your opening mind

Above the dark despair
Shines a light that we can share
Close your eyes and look up in between your brows
Then slowly breathing in
Feel the life force streaming in
Hold it there, then send it back to him

All the old things are returning
Cosmic circles ever turning
All the truth we've been yearning for
Life is our saviour, saviour, saviour, save your soul

The river of living breath
Is flowing through the sun
He was there before the earth began
The world will drag on you
Use his love to pull you through
Find the mission of your life and start to be

All the old things are returning
Cosmic circles ever turning
All the truth we've been yearning for
Life is our saviour, saviour, saviour, save your soul

There's one thing I can do
Play my Mellotron for you
Try to blow away your city blues
Your dreams are not unfound
Get your feet back on the ground
The truth will set us free, we cannot lose
We cannot love, we just have to choose
