Not as likely as that he will resign. TSCC knows that the stake in Cambridge is "different" and that it must not interfere. TSCC is losing its brightest and best as it is. It cannot afford to lose its remaining vestige.

My money is on that stake president being the next apostle, if his attendance and tithing keep going up. The idea that "truth is whatever works" has been preached in the past, even in General Conference. It's also been practiced by missionaries, apologists,
spokespersons, apostles, and even the great prophet Hinckley. In the long run, the revelations will conform to the truth, which is defined as whatever works.
The intense dialogue in that stake has been going on for a long time (I was in that stake), and I believe this SP is sincerely reaching out to members. As a mo, life in that stake was so different from any other stake I've ever been a part of.
