Actually, the "standard mormon reply" is usually, "Of course they do!"
Then they simply treat them like they don't count.

No! I can tell you as a woman, that women in the mormon church do NOT count for much! We are made vulnerable by these mo pricks (who say they "Speak for God"). Women, barers and upbringers of children, need (above anyone else) to be able to provide, have good careers and stable lives. Not be expected to stay home and be bare foot and pregnant. And taught that some priesthood holder will provide when many won't. But, the needs of women don't matter.
