Perhaps no one wanted to mention to Tommy that the emperor has no clothes?

If this was a legal move, they certainly were not in contact with the PR department.

Today's actions will have very negative by products in the future.

not very many people will read the outline of what happened. I think that perhaps they are all of the opinion that this has no baring and will be dropped, and this is like all the other legal problems they have.

all's well in zion...

Unfortunately, IMO the odds are the case will not proceed.

Why? Proceed, won't proceed. Are you going with the coin flip, or do you have some supporting concerns that push the odds significantly in favor of the criminal fraud case not proceeding.

The colloquial wisdom is lawyers are one of the three people you never lie to. But what if you are a lawyer who has drunk so deeply of the kool-aid that you lie to yourself?

So Tommy Monson is the George Lucas of the cult world?

Sounds about right.

Nobody stopped the prequels when they should have. Why didn't they??? Dollah dollah bill y'all!

I agree that the case won't get anywhere. The implications are too huge, and not just for the Mormon church. Prove the fraud? Many of us here realize how easy it is, right? Yes. But not so fast. Since when did the truth matter in issues of religion? Next come Catholics, then Scientology.

Do you really suppose for a moment there will be any sane court in the world that will take that one? There is way too much money at stake. It's like hoping the underdog will win but knowing they won't. The case is brilliant. Again, way too much at stake.

"Since when did the truth matter in issues of religion? Next come Catholics, then Scientology."

This case was not brought because of truth in faith but because of fraud.

Scientology is a lot like Mormonism in that you must pay more to progress to the next level of exaltation or knowledge.

In Catholicism and most other mainline Protestant religions you pay nothing for any of the services or sacraments offered by the church. They are there for all.

Wrong.

The Scientologists were convicted of organized fraud in France. For those who can't imagine that a church could be convicted of fraud, it has already happened, and it will happen again. It is reality, not fantasy. We are no longer living in the dark ages.

Weather the courts rule one way or other is irrelevant....just keep putting out the truth and that's it.....because of the internet it has armed many Christians to be able to show the differences and to teach that salvation comes by grace (God dieing on the cross the last sacrificial lamb) and through getting on your knees and telling him that you will follow him and thanking him and you following his one and only commandment "love your neighbor" everything else takes care of itself....you don't need schooling, you don't need a degree in devinety, the simplest person in the world can receive his free gift of dwelling with GOD....you cant work your way to heaven ....its a free gift.

Don't think for a minute you can become God or that Joe smith will judge you....Jesus will say I knew you or I knew you not

Why will he speak in such an odd stilted way. Don't you think that he'll maybe say "I don't know you, but I'm delighted to meet you?"

The Church of Scientology is banned in Germany because it was proven to be an MLM money-making scam.

There is no October surprise.
There is still no October surprise.
It'll be thrown out before the March 14 date.
It won't be allowed to proceed.
It won't go anywhere.

Next up:

It won't make it past the first day of trial.
It won't be found in favor of the plantiffs.

Honestly, it may or it may not succeed, but I'm personally getting sick of the naysayers.

Many have been so wounded by this all powerful organization that they still are traumatised and cannot feel empowered to stand for truth but some stay silent and some cower at the thought of standing up and when others do all they have is a wet blanket.

Want to know the odds on this case just go to vegas and see if they have a betting line on it, heck they have a line on just about anything else. As for how far this case goes why not just follow it on line? Because someone has said before the church of scientology was found guilty of fraud in france and germany it could happan to LDS inc too in merry old england. If this happans it could mean disaster here at home too, and even if it goes nowhere it has cast light on Tommy monson and his cronies who just might start scurrying around like cockroaches. Just think how long it took to convict Al capone and John gottie they thought they would never get caught either after all isn't that whatthe LDS leadership is a gangster blackmailing people for protection money?
