I hadn't thought to ask this before. The church has a lot of lawyers and accountants who are familiar with the deepest and most protected secrets of the church. They seem to be willing to go to bat, jump in and litigate anything on behalf of the church president and keep all its secrets, in spite of knowing all the dirty stuff. You (Tom) also did some financial stuff for the church, as I recall. Is the Second Anointing perhaps something that all those who have intimate knowledge of deepest secrets have? A method to super-vet people and get them to keep the secrets while litigating and balancing the books?

Second question about the SA: The church used to use the temple for "adoption", sealing friends to friends, men to men, etc. Something was said here on RfM a day or two ago to indicate that this may still be the case for those who have received the SA. Is this older practice still happening as part of this ordinance?

Okay. Cool. Does it for me.

I kinda wish someone was still doing the adoption thing. That would really make me perk up and say...

OK, now that you're reading, Tom, why can't you switch teams now that you are post-second-anointing?

Theoretically, of course, couldn't you?

Explain Ana. I don't understand, perhaps it is my jet lag.

Regarding the original question, they wouldn't offer it to most of the financial people, simply because they need the threat of "falling" or "losing your exaltation" or "becoming Satan's servant" to keep them in line.

I definitely think the SA is considered a reward after the fact for many years of faithful service. It's not what you often see in cults, the terrifying initiation that brings you closer to the inner circle. Something like that always comes with lots of threats.
