As a mormon, I was taught god lives on a planet near Kolob which is in the center of the universe. So if I prayed to the mormon god that is living near Kolob, how long will it take my prayer to travel thorough space to the center of the universe so god can hear my prayer and then how long will it take for his answer to return to me? Will I live that long? Should I be praying for answers to questions my great great great grand children might ask?

Does anyone know how fast prayer travels? Speed of sound, light or is there a prayer speed like 1 billion times faster than light?

What a stupid religion to believe in. What is that TSCC song about makes reason stare? Stupid stupid stupid and I was stupid to believe their stupid stories.

I wish I could ask my first mormon anncestor why they joined such a stupid cult.

This is from Wikipedia: "Kolob has never been identified with any astronomical object by modern science and is not recognized by scholars as a concept associated with any ancient civilization"

Based on this, I would say you should not expect a response to any prayer sent to Kolob or its vicinity.

If you send it via USPS it can take several weeks and get caught up in customs.

If you can afford it you can used FedEx and the prayer is answered much quicker.

The speed of sound is magnitudes slower than the speed of light, by about six zeros to be exact. So, even if Kolob existed, and it was as close as the closest star to earth, a prayer would take several million lifetimes to reach Kolob.

One can travel there in a blink of an eye. Hence a prayer would take a blink of an eye.

You'd think that someone ruling a planet would want to be closer to the planet they are ruling.

themaster - the song you're after is "O My Father," but it's referencing single parents in heaven.

The perplexity of that quesstion revolves around the probability factor of the actual existence of Kolob.
If it exists then some form of transmission the we, the milk drinkers, are not ready to undertand submits it instantly to that far off planet.
We should probably consult with Charlie from the series "numbers" to see if he can mathematically equate it.

Which long distance carrier do you have? It depends.

Here is a list of the stars that are closest to our Solar System:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nearest_stars

First you must determine where Kolob is located, i.e., which star is it closest to. Then you must determine the speed at which prayers travel. That will give you your answer as to how long it takes a prayer to travel to Kolob.

Got any questions? Then ask somebody else.

Prayer is a most useless form of "wishful thinking".

Gate to gate or just in-transit time?

Ask the Flying Spaghetti Monster - he knows.
