It seems the church is trying to slow the exodus of members by acknowledging people have legitimate doubts, but we love you and want you to stay. Most TBMs I know have no idea that there are any controversies with the church. As far as they are concerned all is well. Previous conferences reinforced the all is well message by not acknowledging that people are leaving because of doubts. People may be leaving to sin, but nobody was leaving because of doubts. Do you think the message from Eyring may cause the naive TBMs to ask what those doubts are that people have?

Only if it is translated correctly. if not, people will leave.

There were two talks on doubt during the April conference. I don't know if that helped accelerate the exodus, but it does seem like more and more people are waking up. It might just be word of mouth...the exmo missionary force is rolling forth...
