I don't recall any verses in the book or Mormon that can be use to perform one of those , maybe what Mormons do in a case like that is call a catholic priest ?

I haven't seen the movie, but my ex husband went with another priesthood holder and used their priesthood to clear their home of a 'satanic' spirit that had frightened his wife. I wasn't there, but I am pretty sure my husband had done similar things before, on his mission maybe?

Or the Mormon Bishop and the Priest could work in tandem:

Catholic Priest: Ego te absolvo in nomine Patris, et Filiii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

Mormon Bishop: Say What?

Demon: Your mother's in here, Bishop, would you like to leave a message? I'll see that she gets it.

I guess Mormon-blessed extra-virgin olive oil wouldn't cut it?

LOL.

You know, to this day I don't know what "raising their arm to the square" means or what it looks like. I never went to the temple.

I tried to look it up in Google Images, but couldn't find.

Tell me what it signifies, please, Mia.

It looks like this:

It might be based on Masonic stuff.

I've seen one done. They raised their arm to the square and commanded satan to leave. They then gave that person a blessing.

Ooops, my post landed above yours, Mia. I was asking what "raising the arm to the square" signifies. I don't know what it looks like or what it means.

Thanks.

Basically you're holding your bicep straight out and your forearm at ninety degrees straight up.

The LDS church performs exorcisms differently. They call them blessings. They blessed our house years ago to cast out a dark spirit. I've heard many stories of the same.

Thanks Fidget for the info regarding the "arm to the square".

I'll take you up on that offer, AliceDowntheRabbitHole. Cup of coffee in hand, lol!

I've seen bits and pieces of the temple ceremony on You Tube, but never saw the entire thing.

It looks like Boy Scouts doing the Boy Scout sign, but with all of their fingers instead of 3.

SenoritaLamanita, the entire Mormon Temple Endowment Ceremony is posted on YouTube. Grab a cup of coffee, and prepare to be really REALLY grateful that you got out when you did.

There isn't any. Like any other blessings it's done by feel and usually has the phrase "by the power of blah blah, I command you to..."

My husband raised his arm to the square in his 'Court of Love" for adultery. He told them HE knew HF had forgiven him. He didn't bother to ask if I had!

Incidentally they let him off with a month's 'reading the scriptures, Ensign and praying daily' - after multiple adulteries. Needless to say I was not impressed. Couldn't do it then, but if it was now I would go out and commit adultery a few times and then say "Okay now make me read the scriptures etc for a month etc and all will be well right?".

OOOOh I am SO bad!
