That's what I call it. The "Oh Look at Me!" syndrome.... as if ALL of us are mindless fucking idiots who are brainless going to Follow and DO what (let's call him/her) ArrogantMan#1 is doing.
My DH got a call from his daddy telling him they are going to church this morning and hopes he has a good day today. That's all to the convo pretty much. It took me awhile to catch onto this behaviour. Because Mormons Seriously believe they are Leading by example and the rest of us are Meant to Brainlessly, thoughtless follow just anyone...
I'll have to give dear FIL a call one day just to say : "I'm drinking Beer", or "I'm drinking Coffee!", or "We're watching a Porno!" ( or when my Son's Old enough ) "We're getting new Tattoos Today!"
OH, you mean you're NOT following me and doing EVERYTHING I "Expect" you to?
I absolutely HATE this behaviour...... I've been expected to be excited about movies that I don't give a rats ass about seeing..... have another baby (a girl specifically- as If I can control that...), be a "Soccer Mom", basically become someone I am not. It ain't happening though.

I get that too from my TBM parents. "Oh, we can't on Saturday morning because we work at the temple"

They get up at the ass crack of dawn to work at the temple and are done by 10am. What about the rest of the day? Idiots.

I hate that type of person. "Look how righteous and good I am!" I'm not Christian anymore, but I've always liked the passage about praying in secret. This is directly contradictory to everything Mormons do. It's like they HAVE to be commended and rewarded. My ex's crazy TBM inlaw and her husband brag about going to the temple in Mesa monthly (they live in Sierra Vista). Her cover photo on FB is her and hubby, and their three kids in front of the temple. I get it lady, you're a MORmON.

We get that every sunday from my step son. "We went to church this morning, we're going to a fireside, we went to a church pot luck yesterday." On and on. We hear about every single church thing they do. They seldom mention anything else they do.

It's like getting a laundry list of things to do for church. It brings back the memories of doing all that mindless stuff. Going to meetings and hearing the same things over and over and over. I feel sorry for them.

We tell them what we're doing that day too. Things like, we're going out on the boat today, the we're going out to dinner, then we're going to go watch the fireworks. Yesterday we went to some wine tastings, wow they were good.

We don't get much response. But, because we're on Skype, I can see their facial expressions. They look a bit jealous.
