If TSCC approves gay temple marriage (highly unlikely, but it's fun to speculate) who gets to be on which side of the altar? In the current temple ceremony the guy is always on the officiator's right side, gal left side. So with gays is this decided by a coin toss? Best two out of three? Gender preference? Both on one side? Both straddle the altar? Any more thoughts? Fantasies?

I don't know. I would imagine the church would let the couple choose, but the church hardly ever lets you choose anything, but it'd be difficult to come up with a concrete rule for it... Maybe it would just be random (i.e. a coin flip). Or perhaps they'd do a blessing to find out who goes where or something lol.

On a semi-related note, in the early church two men could actually get sealed to each other through the Law of Adoption if I'm not mistaken. So the church could bring that back to justify gay marriage if it ever decides to allow it. Don't know if the church had a ceremony for it or what though.

I never thought of that. Good suggestion. Sealed by adoption for time and all eternity. Has a nice ring to it.

Tom, only you would worry about this! Actually, now I'm worried. If memory serves correctly,I was at the officiator's LEFT and my TBM wife-to-be at the righ while we were facing each other over the alter.

Maybe that explains my thoughts like "Wow, I'm getting sex tonight!" rather than paying to the words of the officiator's. Or my apostasy (stupid fucker couldn't even stay on the right side of the alter, let him be damned!)
