"He boiled for our sins"

LMFAO - that is so wrong, but so damn funny!

Thank you for the morning smile Kendal, life gets to be dreary sometimes.

When I was an active member, this kind of merchandising didn't exist. The market was practically bare.

Now, thanks to the Internet, anyone can start a company and target the LDS audience. They are known to be easy prey for their Mormonized merchandise.

My favorite are Book of Mormon Action Figures!

Exactly Susie Q.

My father actually criticized other religions, mostly Catholics, for all the kitsch that was marketed. This was mostly due to the St. Christopher on the car dash board fad.

He'd say, "We don't flaunt and trivialize our religion like that."

He would be shocked to see all the LDS trappings people sell and buy now.

I'm glad my poor old dad didn't see the Ganesh elephant I have sitting on my genuine Nauvoo brick.

Oh ya, when I joined I was assured that the Mormons didn't have a bunch of ornamentation like the Catholics! No crosses, no rituals... ya..right!!

Actually, the Catholics have been doing it a lot longer and have much nicer chotchkies! :-) But then, Catholicism seems to have a better record of mingling with other cultures. Just look at their churches and their jewel collection kept under lock and key!

Now days, a lot of LDS homes have all kinds of Mormon art on their walls: the first presidency, temples, etc.

I remember a talk years ago when the speaker admonished the members to put a picture of the temple over the bed of the children so it would be a constant reminder to go to the temple...etc.

Our home was not Mormonized!
