spouse is researching the same stuff i am and i am ready to resign.

she is going to take her time, which is just fine with me.

is there a disadvantage to resigning while she is still a member-of-record? i'm a little worried about the fallout for her (if any).

how will this affect her in the meantime?

i will be in ut next month for a wedding and i plan to take my letter into the COB b/c i think it'll be interesting/good finality for me.

thanks, folks!

Does any of this matter to either of you? Will either of you mind if there's a temporary flurry of church fellowshipping resulting from your resignation?

I don't think we know enough about your situation to give you valid answers.

Does it matter to your wife if you resign?

If not, then I'm not sure what fallout there would be. Nothing bad happens to her if your name is not on the records. If your wife is on board with it, what's the harm?

sounds reasaonble. just wasn't sure what to expect. thanks!

she is cool with it and we don't mind a little extra attention, at least at first...

I don't see anything different other than the ward members knowing that you resigned. She would probably get more sympathy love-bombing at church and a little "extra special" care by the members.
