http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865608081/Gay-Christian-and--celibate-The-changing-face-of-the-homosexuality-debate.html?pg=allFirst off, this doesn't constitute a "changing face of homosexuality". A lot of gays choosing to marry might, but a few people making crazy choices doesn't.
Celibacy is a valid lifestyle choice, but ONLY IF YOU CHOOSE IT. Having someone else demand you remain celibate for life is abuse. It goes against human nature.
Some of the comments say that priests and nuns are celibate, so why can't gays be? They ignore that priests and nuns CHOSE their lifestyle. They also ignore that in some cases, celibacy has NOT worked out well. (Consider the huge Catholic abuse scandals.)
Others say that those who don't marry are expected to be celibate. They ignore that they have/had the HOPE of one day marrying. They weren't required as a young adult/teenager to give up hope of ever having a fulfilling lifetime relationship.
Others say that some people are incapable of marriage. That's true, but doesn't apply to gays, who are indeed capable.
Oh, and there's also the comment comparing it to an addiction. Asshat.
They also list TSCC as a "major religious traditions". HA!
I'm sick of straight, married people, who say they find much fulfillment in their relationships, telling others that they can't have the same.
The arrogance of these people astounds me.
One awesome comment: "The central question is not whether a few can 'convert'; the question is why should they have to even consider it."
