I seem to remember that Joe first approached Helen when she was eleven with a promise or a prophecy of some kind that she would one day be his wife. Can't find it though; tried Google, Compton and Van Wagoner.

Am I wrong? Early onset of Alzheimer? Sources mixed up?

Thanks!

That was Mary Rollins, not Helen.

When Mary was twelve years old, Joseph Smith "told me about his great vision concerning me. He said I was the first woman God commanded him to take as a plural wife" (Mary Elizabeth Rollins Lightner to Emmeline B. Wells, summer 1905, LDS Archives; cited by Linda King Newell and Valeen Tippetts Avery, Mormon Enigma: Emma Hale Smith, 2nd ed. (Urbana, Illinois: University of Illinois Press, 1994), 65).

Wow, thanks runtu. How come it took you two minutes to answer, were you napping or are you a slow typer?
