Yes, they are both listed as having served missions. So, if convicted, will the Morg excommunicate them, or continue to except tithing from them and their families?
Bigger than excommunication, a public trial will expose the Mormon way of conducting business.
I think this story might be the most damaging to LDS Inc of the century.
Hopefully we will see the tentacles of LDS Inc pulling the political strings by having their people bribe the highest law enforcement agency in the state.
This story will grow, and should get national attention.
Government systems based on corruption, bribery, nepotism, and insiders needs exposure.
My, oh, my, there WERE busy little boys. This looks like prison time, to me.
Let's bet that the other boys in the their playgroup were good little mobots.
Swallow is facing charges including:
- Receiving or soliciting bribe or bribery by public servant - False or inconsistent material statements - Evidence tampering - Misusing public monies
Shurtleff is facing charges including:
- Receiving or soliciting bribe or bribery by public servant - Receiving bribe or bribery for endorse of person-public servant - Witness tampering - Evidence tampering - Obstruction of justice
Again, it's a case of thinking they (as Mormons?) are above the law and can do anything they want. Apparently, it caught up with them. Not unusual, though. I've been watching a show on TV about fraud, etc.
I am presuming the DA has some clear evidence. I wonder if this is about one case, or several.
Of course TSCC was involved, if in no other way than teaching them their morals and ethics and providing a good-old boy system for them to flourish under. Everyone in Utah with a brain knows it's a theocracy. Hopefully that will change.
I'm sure the liars at the head of the Mo theocracy are peeing their pants about now.
I think that people are being hopelessly naïve about this. Those arrests aren't a blow against Mormon power. They are a manifestation of Mormon power. Swallow and Shurtleff were arrested under some random charges because they previously defied Oaks, Eyring, and President Newsroom in subtle, private, but politically important ways.
When I was reading the accounts of the emails a couple of days ago, it was very clear that without the Trib that information would NEVER have seen the light of day. It certainly would not have shown up in the Deseret News.
Swallow was the bishop to some of my close friends. At the time there was some shenanigans going on with some folks in Utah law enforcement that traced all the way back to the AG's office. Corruption galore. My friends were on the short end of the stick and were set up by those corrupt folks, but my friends fought back hard and cleared their name. They were planning on going after the corruption with a law suit.
Bishop Swallow was telling my friends the spirit was prompting him to counsel them to let it go. Even move out of state. It wasn't going to be good for them to remain in Utah. Yes, he was using his position as Bishop to protect his friends and further his political ambitions.
Of course the spirit that was prompting him was coming from his corrupt cronies. Fortunately, my friends haven't let this go and authorities have been speaking with them regarding the matter. More to come about this.
The investigative report on Swallow also relates that he was a Mormon Bishop. If you go by the numbers on the bottom of each page, it's on 168 and 171. It's part of his excuse for wiping records from his computer:
This freekin fantastic news! But know what? it's okay because of all th money they brought to the Morg, so after their prison they will either be made leaders or go on missions or something, maybe even be mission presidents. Win-win.

Most important: no challenges to the General Authorities. If you are a male Mormon, that is the only thing that will get you excommunicated.
The LDS church appoints the political positions in this state that effect the TSCC ability to hide its actions. Both of these Mormon Winners were appointed NOT, I repeat NOT elected.
"My brothers and sisters this is the be A.G." "Let us all sustain him."
How many other states A.G.'s pull this kind of stuff. They didn't just take bribes they solicited them. What Shurleff would do is go fishing on a company. Create a problem out of something minor. Then swoop in and offer a "fix" for a price.
