I was thinking that I would resign on the 4th of July for quite some time now. Thinking it would be cool to add my own special meaning to Independence Day. But is that just a weird thought? Also will my TBM relatives find out the date I resigned? Don't really want to ruin the 4th for them. All opinions welcome. Thanks.

I'm actually typing up my resignation letter right now... it seemed fitting.

Your family can't really find out the date you resigned. The only record of that will be in Salt Lake; it won't be available at the ward membership clerk or bishop level (unless, of course, your family is in the same ward as you, in which case you'll share a bishop that might tell your family).

Today is the best day because you will be exercising your real freedom and not the bull shit "free agency" LDS Inc. sells.

I think you should figure things out for yourself.

What a great day to declare your Independence from bondage, taxation, overly controlling laws, invasive behaviors and impossible demands for far too little return.

It was when I resigned, asserting my unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Everyday is a free day out of the tentacles of a false church.

The 4th is the day we celebrate our independence of tyranny, so not weird in the slightest.

..."like any traditional business or corporation, the Church will be closed on the 4th. So, therefore your exit paperwork will be processed at our convenience...thank you."
