How do we know..

So the euphoria over getting my final Dodge letter has worn off, I'm wondering...Do we have any way of knowing that they truly have removed our names? If I look on the church genealogy site, will my name be noted, "Baptism and endowment cancelled Feb 03, 2011?

Or is this whole resignation/name removal process just more smoke and mirrors? Will I be counted in that bogus 14+ million membership number until 110 years after my birth?

Sounds like you need closure and the letter confirming your resignation didn't give it to you.

They keep your name record, they just clear out the ordinance

dates.

I don't think there is any evidence that they still count us. There are only 100,000 or so resignations a year and it wouldn't show much in their doctored numbers.

You've done all you can.

Your name will always be somewhere in church records. You will be listed as resigned.

except you CAN leave, it's just that they keep you on the roster, hoping you return someday. :)
