Personally, I think the field is ripe for this type of religious environmentalism. Granted, it will likely be more accepted by the younger generations than by the author's contemporaries (and their parents and grandparents), but that's kind of how these things work.
Mormons love to talk about stewardship. They need to start putting their money where their mouth is.
