BYU TV is currently showing a half-hour long movie called " John the Beloved's Witness". The description on my cable box is: Exploring the last days of Jesus as seen through the eyes of John the Apostle.

The dialogue is basically a stilted stringing together of Bible verses - all in King James Version. Nice cinematography and music - but it just quickly shifts from one scene to the next.

The upcoming programming will be: Music and the Spoken Word (Easter theme), General Conference, History of the Saints, Joseph Smith Papers, Discussions of the Book of Mormon, BYU Idaho Devotional.

I made it home in time for the BYU devotional, originally given April 1, 2014 by Larry Walters, Professor of Public Policy Analysis and Management and Stewart Grow Professor of Public Management at BYU. The title was "Citizenship"

He started out with a rah-rah the church is growing, the work is hastening, you're the choice and chosen generation, etc. Just a bunch of propaganda statements randomly strung together followed by an awkward segue into the value of democracy and the importance of being a good citizen, blah, blah, blah. He somehow tied this back to hastening the work - whatever that means.

It was a rather dry selection for this particular Easter Sunday, when they were actively trying to convince everyone that they actually celebrate the most sacred day for Christians.
