I watched this movie for the first time as an adult a couple of years after coming home from my LDS mission. It took me almost a decade to become exMormon after watching it.

So, should I blame Monty Python for losing my testimony when I'm being prepared to burn in Hell?

I think LoB is the best Python work, hands down. I loved it long before I left the church.

WOW! I was going to say "Life of Brian is part of the homosexual agenda. But I couldn't do it. "The Passion of The Christ" was super easy. I couldn't find plot points in "Life of Brian."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python%27s_Life_of_Brian#Plot
"": same-sex attraction.

"": demonetization of homosexuals by society.

"": not "coming out" and being who you are meant to be (acting on the power) is harmful to the person, family and society.

"": rejects the ability of those with same-gender attraction to control behavior.

"": heterosexuals are free to pursue happiness through sexual relationships and gays are not - making them unequal in society.

"": heterosexuals diminish marriage, freely given to them without judgment of any kind - SSM can't do any more harm.

You got that out of "Life of Brian"? I must have seen a different version.

Read the linked post. The woman who thought "Frozen" is part of a gay conspiracy came up with these.

It's just a fun game that we started playing, I am going to do this with the next movie I watch. :)

Huh? Did we see the same film? There is no plot to LoB. It is satire of human need to believe the unbelievable, blindly follow leaders and splinter into hyper partisan groups. With a Gilliam non-sequitur animation tossed in.

Ah, sorry. I need to see it again obviously.

funniest movie ever. Most quotable dialog. Most punch lines. Non stop situational humor. Most scathing indictment of superstition and ignorance. Most tongue in cheek Biblical references. Fabulous north African scenery. Great costumes and ancient architecture. Most egregious science fiction sequence ever. Best performance by a male actor in drag. Funniest crucifixion scene ever filmed. Funniest version of Pontius Pilate ever seen (don't miss Bigus Dickus). Best version of a public stoning ever conceived. Best all time comedy troupe.

It's pretty good.

I was actually on a rant on facebook about an unfunny Jimmy Fallon sketch today, because I thought it was insulting to people with speech impediments. (I have one, and it can be a sensitive topic for me) Thing is, I liked the Monty Python sketch with the Pontos Pilot with the speech impediment. In that case, it was well done, good humor, and even through all the pain of my youth, I still laughed. Jimmy Fallon on the other hand, there was no humor in it. It was like he was simply saying, "Look, I am playing a stupid person who talks funny. Let's all laugh at people who talk funny." The whole joke in Jimmy Fallon's sketch was making fun.

I can't explain it, other than the Monty Python sketch is kind of like a Will and Grace episode dealing with homosexuality, while the Jimmy Fallon's was more like a High School bully calling another kid the f-word for laughs.

I think you might have an original perspective that you haven't yet shared with us. Maybe you want to develop your voice. Try talking it out.

The normal movie financiers wouldn't back Life of Brian because they feared the backlash from the Christians. So individual investors stepped up including Beatle George Harrison. There is a scene where Brian tells the crowd "You are all individuals" After a moment a voice says "Well I'm not". That is said to have been George Harrison. One of my favorite movies.

"If you ask me the meek are the problem".

Did he say, "blessed are the cheesemakers"?

Are you talking about the Cheesemaker Liberation Front or the Front for Cheesemaker Liberation?

Shut up bignose. Sorry, couldn't resist. The whole concept of that scene, and a fist fight, at the Sermon on the Mount was brilliant.

...the Mormon temple endowment ritual wasn't 'divinely restored' through Joseph Smith. In the sketch, the architect character played by John Cleese says:

"Your bleeding Masonic handshakes!"

"Freemasonry opens doors."

"I've got a second-hand apron."

The sketch can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2PyeXRwhCE

It's one of the Pythons' best sketches, IMO.

Every Sperm is sacred. Isn't that part of LDS reproductive theology?

After seeing LoB it was so easy to imagine how Christianity might have actually started.

If a comedy movie, which takes no direct stabs at religion in any way, negatively affects your faith, your faith probably wasn't too strong to begin with.

Also, "Biggus Dickus."

I was a New Age Christian teenager when I first saw LoB and I can't believe that I actually walked out of the theatre because I was sooooooo offended. Fast forward two decades when I saw it again, and I couldn't stop laughing.
