From Spencer W. Kimball's "The Miracle of Forgiveness" -- page 78

"For done in private, it [masturbation] evolves often into mutual masturbation — practiced with another person of the same sex — and thence into total homosexuality .

. . . .Thus it is that through the ages, perhaps as an extension of homosexual practices, men and women have sunk even to seeking sexual satisfactions with animals."

Wow! Just wow!

The LDS Church currently requires that every bishop have a copy of "The Miracle of Forgiveness" in his office.

Well in his case, that's what he thought happened to him. He would have been gay even if he did not do circle jerks with other guys. But since he apparently did, in his worldview the one caused the other. In realityland, of course, he was just gay.

Yes, masturbation is a gateway activity to having sex with Mr. Ed. Who even thinks like that?

...Mr. Ed NEVER engaged in discussions or actual horse-acts regarding masturbation. However, it wouldn't surprise me if Wilbur and his wife were a little preoccupied with it........

Unfortunately this "idea" isn't just limited to him.

It's a problem of statistics ignorance, with compounding issues of Confirmation bias and an appeal to Consequences. The false logic follows:

1. Subject A is homosexual.
2. Subject A masturbated.
3. Therefore, masturbation causes homosexuality.

When you distill it and actually look at it, it makes no sense. But since you have confirmation bias and are already convinced that both 1 and 2 are bad, you don't invest any peer review into the process.

He and Vaughn J Featherstone were pretty tight. I believe it was SWK who called VJF to the Seventy. They must've had many late night talks together about husking the coconut.
