Who would call back a number they don't recognize? Especially when they didn't leave a voicemail?

I don't see how that scam makes any money except from lonely old people with no one to talk to...

I get a lot of call backs from parents of my students where I don't immediately recognize the number. But from now on, if it's not a recognizable local area code, I won't bother.

Agreed -- if there's no voicemail message, and I don't recognize the number, I assume it's a misdial.

Freddie,

You were my hero back in the day when I watched you wrestle!

Man, I wanted to meet you in person!

Great to have you on The Board here...

Had it happen to me the other day. The area code showed up as Antigua on my phone and since I don't know anyone there and they didn't leave a message, I figured it was a scam.

I had two calls from Angigua over the weekend to my cell phone. No, I did not call them back! I don't recognize the number, I don't return the call!

Well, that explains the call I got from Antigua yesterday.

I ignore calls from numbers I don't recognize, and I certainly don't call those unknown numbers back either.

I love the auto reject feature on my phone. If I do get a call that is not rejected, I look it up in google "who called" or one of the other sites to see who else got a call from that nubmer. Most of the time everyone agrees that it is a spam call. I add the number to my reject list. Sad thing is my reject list is larger than my good list.
