When I separated from military service in 1985, my Mormon aunt and uncle had left the church. She explained some things to me but I wasn't ready to learn the truth for another seventeen years, after my daughters were raised and I had lived as a mostly active Mormon for nearly forty years. I sometimes wonder what life would have been like had I left the church in my early 30s, but there are no redo's in life, only the present moment. And I am happy at this stage, officially nine years out next month on December 2.
