The problem with trunk-or-treats in my area

I live in an area where it rains and/or snows most Halloweens. Trunk-or-treats are one thing, but when they get moved inside and the kids just do laps around the gym in a 5 minute candy spree, it's just not the same. I feel like everyone should just throw their candy into a big huge pile in the middle of the gym floor and turn the kids loose to attack it.
