Ether 2:16 says the barges were small and light upon the water, and 2:17 says the length was thereof was the length of a tree. Meanwhile 6:4 says that they filled these tree length vessels with all kinds of herd animals, family, food and water and everything they would all need.

It's no wonder there is no sign of these great civilizations! Everyone has been looking for modern sized ruins and evidences, when these folks and flocks could have been no larger than mice.

And since when did trees have length? Has anyone ever, anywhere, said "that tree is a good 40 feet long"?

Just thinking about the Jaredites trying to shoulder the last elephant into a 40 foot sealed vessel makes me thing of those cartoons with 20 clowns climbing out of their car.

They were invisible. They've only used up brain space in mormons minds for 180 years.

They were as big as Joseph Smith's imagination.

BIG people! Arms like tree trunks! Hand like giant hams! And flaming red hair!
