Actually, if you watch their language closely, you should find that they usually say that the church "has an unpaid clergy" or something similar, instead of "no paid clergy". The distinction is important, because they are not *technically* saying that no one is paid, just that some portion is unpaid. They just want everyone to misread their statements and think that none of the clergy are paid within the church, since that would directly contradict the standard set within the BoM.
