the following statement by Neal A. Maxwell is ludicrous.
“There is no democracy of facts. We should not assume; however, that just because something is unexplainable by us, it is unexplainable. C. S. Lewis pointed out that some people are angry with God for His not existing, and others for His existing but for failing to do as mortals would have Him do. Instead of such childishness, we are urged to know God and to learn of His attributes.” -Elder Neal A. Maxwell
This is a great example of an ad hominem attack and a non-sequitar. Since when does denying the existence of god equate to being "angry at god for his not existing"? C.S. Lewis and Maxwell both make very large illogical leaps. Instead of the childish name calling that is rampant in Mormonism how about some sound logic. However, there is really no rational defense for Mormonism and for for Joseph Smith's childishness reflected in his inability to control his sexual appetites and greed.
The most childish thing about Mormons is their inability to stand up for themselves and question their leaders. They are some of the most disempowered people on the planet. Many three-year-olds have more latitude in questioning authority and exploring possibilities. Such people will spend their existence in childish perpetuity, believing in magic, ghosts, and other superstitions. A rather sorry state in today's world.
