I thought you might find interesting this transcript of
the US Senate Committee case regarding Mormon Senator Reed Smoot. Where did Mormon
Church President Smith find time for meditation, let alone revelation? |

It only changed 20 years or so ago, because of tax laws. The Morg was crossing the for-profit/not-for-profit line because of the leaders of the Church acting as chairs. It doesn't matter much. All of the for-profits take their direction from the Presiding Bishop, members of the 12 and the Hinckster himself. And, the chairs in place are all very rich TBMers, such as Robert Garff. |

This list is insane! They own the Lai'e Shopping Center? The Beach Park? Restaurants? Good grief! This whole operation is a business masquerading as a church for the tax free status. |

The church bought the ranch last year, I believe. Based on
the fair market value/acre, it would've cost about US$26 million. |

is that they used to be under the for-profit umbrella of Deseret Management Corporation. About a year ago, maybe two, they were moved under the non-profit side. |

The Church owns the Triad Center, which is right next to it. It probably drives them mad that demon alcohol is served in the Devereaux mansion. ALCOHOL I say, right next door to a Church property!!! Scandalous! |

BYU will soon have a campus in the Triad Center, and the

I reread the article posted by T-Bone. Apparently, the
Devereaux House stopped serving alcohol last year, at the request of the Morg,
in exchange for a lower lease rate. |
