Just curious how much has been given cumulatively by exmo's. I figure that I gave about $100,000 before pulling the plug. You? Anyone know precisely what they gave?

Well, I am in a lot better shape --
I was BIC, became an atheist at age 14, and quit LDSinc. at age 17. My lifetime tithing was all of $50. I only paid that because my teenage-years job was shoveling snow and taking care of the garbage at a rental 4-plex my father owned. He paid me a good wage for doing that work and he expected me to pay tithing on it. So I kind of did.
My best guess is that my father paid in excess of $100k in tithing. Money down the phoquing rathole.

Thank TFSM I became a jackmo after high school, so my total tithes were probably only about a thou, paid on the job I had full time in the summer and part time in the winter for 3 years.

Not much at all for my part! I'm so sorry that you had to go through this other posters!
I pulled the same crap on "the priesthood" as they pulled on me. I told them that since my husband was the head of the house and a non member, I paid as much as he told me that I could. LOL ! This was not true, but it was enough for one bishop to give me my temple recommend. I actually never paid more than $100 per year, but I worked my ass off cooking meals, making baby quilts, teaching classes, cleaning the damn church, etc, etc. I felt at the time that god knew I was doing my best and that taking food from my children's mouths was not required. I also told the "priesthood" that my daughter would not be going to seminary. She needed her sleep and she needed to keep up her good grades. Period! Never got flack for it that amounted to anything anyway. Only wish I would have carried this a little further then and found my way completely out. Oldest son helped us all see the light when he went to a heathen university and took a religion of the world class. I have to thank that professor one day. He changed all of our lives.
So glad that most of you here are spending that money on yourselves now and not giving it to the cult.

Thank GOD I was never even "able" to pay a full tithe for most of the yrs.. . .
I was a member of TSCC. I was a single mother, raising my 4 children on state welfare assistance, but this FOOL, even tried paying tithe on that little amt. Arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!!!! I feel so badly for y'all who paid out so much to that Evil Cult "- Too bad there's not some way to get it back, eh?

In 40 years,I figure well over 200,000 in tithing and probably 35,000 more to send out my five missionaries. Wow, that would have been the retirement fund I don't have. Damned lying cult!

I'm wondering if anyone here had the wherewithal as the parent of a missionary to deduct the cost of the mission from their tithing. After all, it all goes to the same pocket for the same purpose, right? I've never been in that position, but I'm sure I would handle it that way if my son or daughter went on a mission.
I always paid on net, and gave close to 80K just over the course of the last 12 years.

I think I am below $200. I only paid it a couple times on allowance as a kid. I think I only paid 2 times during my full time summer job in high school only because I had the fear of burning. I never paid again afterwards.

I once tried to guess how much tithing that would add up to. My guess was somewhere around 5 million and still counting.
That money could have been put to so much better use.

Mom and Dad = 150K
Me and Wife = 75K
Brother and wife = 50K
Sister and deadbeat BIL = -(200k)
Just a few more rent payments and food runs for the deabeats and we will have it all back in the form of white trash.
BTW: Their kids (my nephews) are now starting jobs and needing help from the wards. So far oldest kid is tring to be a Doctor with two kids and one on the way. Local ward has already paid at least three months rent.

$0....made the conscious decision in my late teens that I would not contribute to a load of BS....and I was never one to give a fast offering either in my early teens....

whew! gald i got out in my 20s - not that tithing as a working student with a family didn't hurt every month but... at least my total 'invested' (mission included - i had to pay for it myself) in mormonism wasn't too bad
